New Teams - How do you remove users from the "Pick an account" / Login screen?

While testing "New Teams" I have noticed that the "Pick an account" / Login screen shows the previous users that have logged in, even if they have clicked "sign out".

When clicking on those users, it also logs them in without asking for a password.

After reading other posts here, I have tried deleting the cache here: %LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe

And also deleting the data in this folder: %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy

Doing this has stopped the accounts from being logged in without a password, but the accounts still appear on the "Pick an account" / Login screen.

They do not show in classic teams or any other application and there are no additional accounts in the "Access Work and School" windows setting page.

I have also tried to fully remove and reinstall Teams but the accounts are still visible.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks

EDIT:

I have found a possible solution:

Delete:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneAuth
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TokenBroker
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\IdentityCache

Then restart the PC.

This will sign out all Microsoft products but does remove the users from the login list and removed their login details, meaning a password is required to login to Teams.

I had the same problem (name showing even after a logout). The way I was able to clear previous login accounts from showing was the following in win11:

    Start

    Settings

    Apps (on the left)

    Installed apps (on the right)

search for Teams; click the 3 dots next to "Microsoft Teams (work or school)"; select Advanced options

Scroll down to the Reset section; select the second Reset button ("If this app isn't working right, reset it. The app's data will be deleted").

    Thx,

    Andy

I too have this same exact issue.

This is a shared PC in a conference room. With the old teams app I had a GPO to remove a few folders in Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin. With the new Teams there is no way to remove the accounts. I've done everything the OP has done and then some.

This is very frustrating as there are a list of users saved on this shared PC.

    Hello Ablyth,

    I will be happy help.

Go to "Settings" on your device

    Click "Accounts".

From the Navigation Pane to the left click on "Access Work or School" (it may take few secs to load the screen).

From the list of available Microsoft accounts select the one you want to remove.

After selecting the account you will see button "Disconnect" click on it.

Click "Yes" on the prompt to remove this account.

Please do let me know if further assistance is needed.

Hi, I have looked in Credentials manager and cannot see any office or teams ones in there, there were some OneDrive ones which I removed, but the users still appear in the list after restarting new teams.

If it helps, they do not show in classic teams or any other Microsoft products, and since clearing the caches mentioned in the original post, they are no longer actually logged in, they ask for their passwords. However they still appear in New Teams when on the login screen.
