how to hide the chat panel in teams?

This worked for me! My auto-hide broke on some update, but when I took your advice it finally started working again. Thank you very much for posting this!

Okay I really don't know what's going on now. When I posed reply that it got fixed (auto hide with teams windows smallest with 85% zoom)I was really pleased. But from today, it's not auto hiding any more......

Yes, total fail on Microsoft's part. Program Manager needs to be assigned to remedial UX training. Chat list auto-hide needs to return with next update. Sooner if they realize what a huge fail it is. You guys have to do your complete testing cycles or, if it's considered a "new feature", whoever approved it should be demoted. Remember "The effective range of an excuse is zero meters."

Another trash Microsoft product. Have switched all personal PCs to apple unfortunately still stuck with MS garbage at work. Chalk up another failure for MS.

I like to keep my teams small so previously, with 80% zoom and the teams window as small as possible, I realized that the chat panel would auto hide and it would show only when I hover my mouse over Chat.

However, recently chat panel would stay open so it is taking up quite a space in my small teams window. Does anyone know how to make this chat panel auto hide itself?

Only way to make it hide is if I make the zoom 115% which is ridiculously large for me...

Try going to the app settings (through the computer settings - not the app settings) and scroll down till you find the "repair" and "reset" button. I had the same issue and it was driving me crazy, but I first tried the "repair" button and then the "reset" button and it worked. Now, I can have the zoom at 80% as well, and the chat list panel hides automatically. It won't reset your account data, you may just have to log in again. I hope this helps :)
