how to hide the chat panel in teams?

I like to keep my teams small so previously, with 80% zoom and the teams window as small as possible, I realized that the chat panel would auto hide and it would show only when I hover my mouse over Chat.

However, recently chat panel would stay open so it is taking up quite a space in my small teams window. Does anyone know how to make this chat panel auto hide itself?

Only way to make it hide is if I make the zoom 115% which is ridiculously large for me...

I went to work from my desktop Mac today, where I typically have Teams taking up a portion (maybe just under half one of my monitors), and finding this issue, I thought it just "unchecked" something, or even was a "MacOS" thing, but seeing this makes me feel less alone, and like it's not just me not seeing the setting or if it was just a Mac exclusive issue.

I am also mildly annoyed by this. I would like to have the option to hide the Chat List reinstated.

    Disabled and Disappointed

I just encountered this same issue this morning. I am legally blind so need the Teams window I am currently using to fill the whole screen. Now all of a sudden the chats that were hidden take up half of the screen so the chat I am working in is too small to read. Epic FAIL with no warning. Now to hide the chats, I had to zoom in to 190% so now the screen sharing feature I use 60% of my workday is out of proportion. Whoever okayed this change did not take into consideration accessibility for visually impaired users.

I hope this is quickly addressed!!!!!!

I am also voicing displeasure on this change, the web version still has old functionality of hiding the chat list at least.

My choices are to either have my other windows smaller to accommodate Teams needing to be bigger for same functionality, or to have Teams taken up 50% by the chat list and have a highly squashed and hard to comprehend usable space in Teams.

So my chat panel became 'unstuck' and is auto-hiding again. I did nothing that I know of to resolve it... the stick just happened and now it's unstuck. Odd, but I'll take it!
