I like to keep my teams small so previously, with 80% zoom and the teams window as small as possible, I realized that the chat panel would auto hide and it would show only when I hover my mouse over Chat.
However, recently chat panel would stay open so it is taking up quite a space in my small teams window. Does anyone know how to make this chat panel auto hide itself?
Only way to make it hide is if I make the zoom 115% which is ridiculously large for me...

Please return the option to auto-hide chats, it's absolutely obtuse and strange that it was removed in the first place. Please, do not make decisions for me on how I want my page laid out.
I can not auto-hide the chats panel using the suggested 115% zoom size.
Not sure how a Microsoft Agent can answer and be so wrong. This was absolutely a feature. The reason you cant replicate is because Teams was updated and removed it. Can we please get an ETA on when this will be brought back. This is ridiculous.
I am struggling with this also, it suddenly was no longer hidden but in my other office, it's still auto hidden and I've spent so many hours looking for a way to get it back to auto hide that chat list. There is no reason for it to take up that much space! I hope we find a solution!

Hello:
Try going to the app settings (through the computer settings - not the app settings) and scroll down till you find the "repair" and "reset" button. I had the same issue and it was driving me crazy, but I first tried the "repair" button and then the "reset" button and it worked. Now, I can have the zoom at 80% as well, and the chat list panel hides automatically. It won't reset your account data, you may just have to log in again. I hope this helps :)
