It's absurd that is now May 2025 and the ability to copy the name, timestamp and message is not available.
I work in IT and it is vital to have these three components as I need to paste into the ticket. Depending on the number of messages, I either have to screenshot the messages or use right click > Copy Link > paste > copy name > paste, > copy datetime > paste. Neither are great, it should not require this much effort when a simple copy/paste would do.
Microsoft, why are you not listening to your customers? Who makes these decisions? Leadership is important here. We are real users in real world situations. We have a responsibility to document without wasted space or time. Screenshots are unacceptable. Over the years your changes have directly impacted our work many things not for the best. Why will you not address our needs?
Did you try the "forward" option?
i.e. - select the message you want to copy + select "forward" = able to copy message contents and date/time from the forward window.
Not optimum, but better than nothing, albeit absurd (as you noted) that we have to go to this length...
Never tried, but, THANK YOU, this is much better than the Copy Link, it eliminates several steps.
I never tried because I simply didn't need to forward. so I just tried and sent to myself and was able to easily copy the three elements.
Again, thank you.
