Yesterday morning, seemingly after an update, everyone in my group who uses Dark Mode in Teams noticed vertical white lines appear that divide the sections of the chat screen (between the left side icons and the chat selection tree as well as between the tree and the chat window itself. We all find these lines very annoying and would like to remove them. However, we haven't found a way to turn them off. Suggestions (besides switching to the blinding Light or Classic modes?

This did work for me, but I just skipped to step 3 and the reset seemed to work, but it's only been a few minutes- I hope it doesn't come back on later today or tomorrow. If so may need to try the other steps
Agreed. Uninstalling and reinstalling only works temporarily, until an auto update happens.
I have tried everything again; from deleting the cache, removing Teams from the Registry as below:
I then reinstalled Teams. It starts in "Follow Operating System Theme", runs updates and re-downloads my data. But as soon as I select Dark scheme, it gets those 2 white lines back. Why can't I get rid of them when I deleted every trace of Teams from my machine?
Resetting the app and or clearing the cache should do the trick...worked for me. See below for quick guide.
Reset
Open the Settings app and select Apps > Installed apps, then type Microsoft Teams in the search box> select Teams >advanced options> scroll down> Reset
Clear Cache
