Unable to collapse the left side panel in teams anymore

As of yesterday, the display of my teams will no longer collapse the left side panel. I've tried settings, restarting the app, and restarting the computer. It used to open after selecting one of the options next to it, like chat or teams and then it would automatically close after I selected what I wanted from those options. How do I get it to collapse again?

    I stumbled upon a solution for this, If you hold control and use your mouse wheel you can zoom in and out. Out of frustration I just kept zooming in and eventually the chat panel went away and now it works like it used to.

    Thinking to be clever, I found and restored this folder from Recycle Bin:

      C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams\UserAvatarIcons

    This restored my avatars... but also restored the non-collapsible sidebar problem! 😒

    That's not a solution, as many use Teams in a minimized view. And making the page zoom look bigger doesn't make it easier to view the conversations. The issue is MS failing to correct something they broke in an update. The other problem is there isn't enough noise for the m to care about fixing it.

    When I go to your instructions, there is no visual or ability to collapse the side bar:

    • Have you checked to make sure the “Collapse app in the sidebar” toggle switch is turned on? Go to Settings > Appearance and look for the “Collapse app in the sidebar” toggle switch. Make sure this is turned on.

    As well, this just happened. Why does Microsoft do this all the time... I want the sidebar collapsed ,
