Additional chat-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Dear help me please:),
Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.
I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue with the new Microsoft Teams. Here are a few steps you can try to get the left side panel in Microsoft Teams to collapse again:
- Look for the two diagonal arrows icon labeled as the Collapse tab at the top-right corner of the screen when you open a tab in a Teams channel. Clicking this should toggle the left side panel.
- Sometimes, adjusting the zoom level can help. Click on the three dots next to your profile picture, go to Settings > General, and set the zoom level to 100%.
- If the above steps don’t work, try increasing the resolution of your monitor. This can sometimes affect how elements are displayed in Teams.
- Have you checked to make sure the “Collapse app in the sidebar” toggle switch is turned on? Go to Settings > Appearance and look for the “Collapse app in the sidebar” toggle switch. Make sure this is turned on.
- You’ve already tried this, and this is for classic Teams, but just to ensure, have you tried clearing the cache again by following these steps:
- Close Microsoft Teams.
- Navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams on your computer.
- Delete the contents of the Cache folder.
- Restart Teams.
For New Teams, you will need to reset the teams as provided in Clear Teams cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn, see the screenshot below.
If none of these steps work, please let me know and we can explore other options. Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. Thank you for your help.
