Unable to collapse the left side panel in teams anymore

As of yesterday, the display of my teams will no longer collapse the left side panel. I've tried settings, restarting the app, and restarting the computer. It used to open after selecting one of the options next to it, like chat or teams and then it would automatically close after I selected what I wanted from those options. How do I get it to collapse again?

    They are still on an older client version. That is what they need to update.

    Theirs: 49/24080212011

    Yes, that looks right. So you have signed out and in, repaired, rebooted and still no good?

    as far as i know i do,

    You have Microsoft Teams version 24231.512.3106.6573. You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 9/18/2024.The client version is 49/24080212011.
