Unable to collapse the left side panel in teams anymore

As of yesterday, the display of my teams will no longer collapse the left side panel. I've tried settings, restarting the app, and restarting the computer. It used to open after selecting one of the options next to it, like chat or teams and then it would automatically close after I selected what I wanted from those options. How do I get it to collapse again?

    Damn.. tried repair and reset and no love :-(

    Close app- go into the start menu- microsoft teams- right click- more- settings- reset. None of the other things worked, but this did.

    I am having exactly this same issue as well and none of the steps above worked. Very frustrating.
