"New" Teams notification are not working correctly

Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

    I appreciate your feedback but if you read any of the previous 7 pages of feedback, it's not the not that the notifications are not on because they are. It's that new Teams notifications are horrible and just plain don't notify the end user in a way that is helpful. They're SLOWLY getting a little better but I still only know when I get notifications only when I'm sitting in front of my pc with Teams open on one of my multiple monitors. I'm still missing many notifications.

    It's completely bonkers that Microsoft won't roll this forced 'update' back, and fix the issues. Not that I loved this app before, but it's practically useless now.

    Totally agree. Pop-ups for Teams spaces should be more like pop-ups for Chats. Show the content -- it's easily "missable" without that. Have the ability to get a pop-up without @'ing people. It's one of the most common complaints about our transition from Webex to Teams: notifications suck. People miss notifications in Teams.

    Our users say the very short DURATION of the Teams popups is an issue as to why they're really "missable" as well. They should pop for longer.

    Notifications are a crucial and indispensable part of a messaging app, but it seems that Teams devs are neglecting them in favor of tweaking the chat UI. I think their priorities are a bit off...

    Yes, I have all notification switches turned on for both Windows and Teams app and still keep missing my colleague's messages.

    No, Badges and toasts do not help since they are ephemeral and easily missable.

    It's not that current notifications are not working well, it's that the functionality is simply missing. The new teams app does not have the ability to emit Windows-native notifications.
