Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

I just found out that desktop notifications were removed from the new Teams. I absolutely hate this change and wish it was reverted.

I have tried all the options mentioned above in your article, but i am still unable to get notifications on my desktop screen.
PS: I also have teams on my mobile phone which is linked with the same account. Has this got anything to do with the notifications on my desktop?

I'm sorry, but the new Microsoft Teams does not support native desktop notifications. I totally wish there were native Windows desktop notifications, because I think the banner notifications are very unreliable.
To answer your question, no, Teams on mobile has nothing to do with the notifications you receive on desktop.

There used to be an option, per thread, to aktivate notifications when somebody answers to a thread (in which I myself never posted, but still want to get notified if someone else posts a message in that thread).
I can't make out an notification-option, in the new teams, which allows this...
The only thing I've figured out with the new Teams is that to ensure I get all notifications I need to have Teams visible on my monitor at all times. AND constantly check it for new notifications. I have three monitors. I have three monitors for a reason and in order for me to keep an eye on my Teams I would lose one monitor and be stuck at my desk. There is an option to receive emails of posts but I do NOT want another email. That's just really a dumb feature. I'm missing chats from our director, missing chats from my boss, missing meetings because the start of the meeting notification pops up for about 3 seconds then disappears. Teams is supposed to make our work days more efficient but all it's doing is causing me to look bad in front of my leaders. We need the little red circles and exclamation marks back on the badge.
Something else I've noticed is that if my Teams is minimized and I see something pop up on my badge, when I open Teams, if it's already on Chats, whatever new chat is there Teams will immediately mark it as read. I then have to go searching for my new chat message because the bold disappeared to quick.
