"New" Teams notification are not working correctly

Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

    Same issue, I have to turn on my mobile device just to get the "sound" and "notification preview". For the desktop, still does not send notification sound and banner notification. It does, however, shows a "1" on the app when you pin it on the taskbar. Which is not helpful especially when you are on full screen with other apps.

    I want a sound notification, a banner notification on the left bar like the other apps, and all other notifications from the old version.

    And I can't go back to the old version because it won't let you use a work email now.

    Frustrating especially when you have to be 100% online otherwise you can be assumed to be "away" or just not paying attention!

    Teams is supposed to help communication be more efficient and fast...

    Mobile app works OK. Laptop is missing badge icon and even receiving popup message when someone text me, tray icon is dead. I want to see "badge icon" with number of messages! When I am away for a while have no idea about new message received...

    Hope MS will fix this asap.

    This is also happening to me - no banners or notifcations in task bar despite all settings enabled. Notifications are working on the iOS app. Very frustrating to have to look to my phone for when there's a chat.

    Use the solution from FL26. it didn't work at first, but when I restarted my laptop, it worked like a charm! i'm so happy :)

    I too wasn't getting banner/popup notifications for all of the things I used to before switching to the new Teams. I was still getting some and couldn't figure out why. I even checked my settings several times. But just now, I finally realized that my there was a change in one of the notifications settings from the old to new Teams.

    On the old Teams, it was Settings > Notifications. Under "Teams and channels", you'd select the option you wanted.

    In the new Teams, it's Settings > Notifications and activity. Under "Posts in shown and pinned channels", it was marked off as "Off". After switching it to "Show in Activity and banner", I'm now getting all of my banner/popup notifications again.

    I agree, the new teams stinks. All notifications are turned on but I still get no notifications.
