"New" Teams notification are not working correctly

Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

    I think the timer applies to all notifications, including the new teams. Removed the other stuff as that was definitely just the old teams.

    This is for the classic (old) Teams. This option is not available in the New Teams.

    One change I made that has helped me was reviewing the time setting for "show notifications for...".

    Not sure what the default is, but mine was at 5 seconds. Rasing this to 30 seconds has helped me catch some of the new Teams notifications that may have just been disappearing before I saw them.

    Start Menu > Settings > Ease of access > Display

    Same issue here. My org IT is pushing new teams but it is borderline unusable. Like other users here, I want to use it but I keep reverting back to classic because it better suits my needs. I've gone hours without realizing I had a missed call because there is no notification. Bring back the notification on the taskbar icon! Or if this functionality exists, tell us how to turn it on. The notification management within new Teams is pretty much useless.
