Having the same issue as already raised by others. New Teams version, scroll bar disappeared. It only shows up for seconds when switching between chats and groups. It's hard to get to a group which is far down listed.
Scroll bar also gone within a chat. Need to use the up/down key to find relevant comment within a chat.
Switched back to old Teams version and everything is back fine.

The links really are tangential to the problem and, in my case, do not work at all. If the new app requires a manual cache clear periodically, it's not ready for release.
This problem just started for me. It wasn't happening earlier today. When I switch to an active chat session with someone, I see the thin black scroll bar appear on the right side of the window. Then it vanishes, and no amount of cursor positioning will cause it to reappear.
Editorial: The whole idea of super-thin, disappearing scroll bars never made sense. People need to scroll. Traveling laptop users (like me right now) don't have mouse wheels. We need robust, visible, "grabable" handles for scrolling and for resizing windows. It wastes my time whenever I'm trying to position the cursor just right on some narrow scroll bar, or trying to get just the right pixel position to resize a window.
Back to the missing vertical scroll bar in New Teams: I rebooted my laptop, I closed and restarted Teams from the system tray, and I still have no scroll bar for scrolling vertically to see the history in a chat session. If I click on the latest chat, then use the up-arrow key to scroll up through the chat history, the little thin scroll bar will briefly appear on the right side of the window. But it vanishes when I try to catch it with the mouse cursor. This is a very real and rather glaring bug.
I'm running Windows 11 on a Lenovo T490.
Experiencing the same, and as someone on a desktop machine without a mouse (I use a graphics pen tablet) this is also a massive issue for me to try and get around! Guess I'm switching back to 'old Teams' and hoping this gets resolved before we're forced to use the new version.
same here new teams working fine until yesterday, now i cannot scroll up and down through my pinned and recent chats. annoying, in order to find someone i have to search for there name rather than look at recent chat list. all ok until 6th Feb
This issue seems to be resolved with the version:
24004.1307.2669.7070(preview).
You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 07/02/2024. The client version is 49/24010419121.
However this does seem to only be available through Public Preview at the moment.
