Having the same issue as already raised by others. New Teams version, scroll bar disappeared. It only shows up for seconds when switching between chats and groups. It's hard to get to a group which is far down listed.
Scroll bar also gone within a chat. Need to use the up/down key to find relevant comment within a chat.
Switched back to old Teams version and everything is back fine.

I have this issue too, the only "fix" I was able to find was to click on the left button on my laptop (the left clicker on the "mouse") and press the down key on my laptop simultaneously. This helped me go up and down in my chat list as well as scrolling back up or down in a conversation. Hope this helps!
Of course this is the way it should work....the bug is that the scroll bar is MIA on hover, resizing, etc etc. There is nothing to grab. Renders New Teams non-functional.
Most of us understand how a hidden scrollbar works, the issue is it won't appear 'on hover' as intended, which is a bug that needs to be fixed.
With New Teams, I think this is by design. It's to get the scroll bar out of the way when not in use. You can use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down then grab the bar with the pointer if needed. Alternatively, if you don't have a mouse wheel. You can click the Maximize/Restore Down with the little square button just left of the X close button on the top right. This resizing of the window will make the bar show up temporarily to grab.

Someone mentioned this behavior has been updated in a preview release but until then Classic Teams may be the only option.
For users whose platforms are controlled by a centralized IT group in a large organization, this is not an option. Is there another workaround, other than appealing to the change management team in my company? (Who are unlikely anyway to roll out an early access version.)
