Side Scrollbar disappears frequently in the New Teams

FYI - The 'solution' you are referencing is from a ticket that is almost 3 years old.

This current issue is related to New Teams and is not present on either the Classic Teams app or Teams in the browser.

In any case, I have already cleared the cache on New Teams which did not resolve this issue and I still have no scrollbar.

Of course if I have a mouse attached I can scroll without it, and I can use two finger scroll on the touchpad but that's not the point.

We have a large user base with varying levels of tech proficiency and I would expect silly issues like this not to be present less than 8 weeks from retirement of Classic Teams and enforcement of New Teams.

Please provide a more complete solution than 'Clear the Teams cache'

This problem just started for me. It wasn't happening earlier today. When I switch to an active chat session with someone, I see the thin black scroll bar appear on the right side of the window. Then it vanishes, and no amount of cursor positioning will cause it to reappear.

Editorial: The whole idea of super-thin, disappearing scroll bars never made sense. People need to scroll. Traveling laptop users (like me right now) don't have mouse wheels. We need robust, visible, "grabable" handles for scrolling and for resizing windows. It wastes my time whenever I'm trying to position the cursor just right on some narrow scroll bar, or trying to get just the right pixel position to resize a window.

Back to the missing vertical scroll bar in New Teams: I rebooted my laptop, I closed and restarted Teams from the system tray, and I still have no scroll bar for scrolling vertically to see the history in a chat session. If I click on the latest chat, then use the up-arrow key to scroll up through the chat history, the little thin scroll bar will briefly appear on the right side of the window. But it vanishes when I try to catch it with the mouse cursor. This is a very real and rather glaring bug.

I'm running Windows 11 on a Lenovo T490.

Most of us understand how a hidden scrollbar works, the issue is it won't appear 'on hover' as intended, which is a bug that needs to be fixed.

The links really are tangential to the problem and, in my case, do not work at all. If the new app requires a manual cache clear periodically, it's not ready for release.

I don't have the time and the mood to do all this within my business hours. Also it's crashing my Teams Calls, if I do changes.

I will stay with old Teams version until the new version is ready to use without issues.
