If you download Teams Classic: https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.6.00.29964/Teams_windows_x64.exe, open it up, Go into options and register as the teams chat app. Then you can click the option to "switch to new teams". Presence should then be active in outlook

Link does not work. I went to MS's site and downloaded classic Teams. Checked the box and switched to new Teams. Register box is still unchecked in new Teams and unable to be checked. I have the current version of new Teams (23285.3604.2469.4152).

Potential root cause might be you have a mismatch of the 32-bit new Teams client with 64-bit Microsoft 365 Apps (or vice versal). Reinstalling new Teams client using 64-bit resolved the problem for our users.

Hi, can you share us the package installer link. I currently have office 365 (64 bit version). Was trying to install the TEAMS 64 bit version but the checkbox ticking option is still not working.
