Ever since this month and while using the new team application, I can no longer copy teams chat message with the timestamp. I need the timestamp to reference conversations and it would be a pain to add the time and date stamps for every message I need to copy. Also I found that you can copy messages with a partial timestamp by highlighting the chat messages and press control c while holding the right click button on my mouse. This also doesn't help as I get a preview message with double names. It would be a pain to remove part of a line per chat message I am copying. Is there a way to restore the old copying with the timestamp and an option for those who don't want the timestamp. I know skype had this functionality.

What does the replacement result look like to be partial?
(By any chance, do the summary lines include "... by "? I think I account for those, but I don't recall.)
Also, note that my Teams chat, appearance setting is set to compact - meaning one person's post below the other's post, including my own posts. (Not comfy where my posts would appear to the right.)
Now perhaps the find/replace strings can be modified to work with comfy, but I never tried.
Note, if you modify your original post, please separate (post below) what is already there, otherwise it's too hard to compare, as there is no prior post to compare to.
Ran into the same problem with the recent Teams update.
I use a Mac, but maybe the workaround is the same:
• Highlight the text you want to copy with your mouse, and continue to hold down the mouse button—don't let up.
• Then use your shortcut keys to copy the text (command+C), and then let up on the mouse button.
• Paste it where you need it, and it should include the timestamp and identity.
[2025-02-24 11:21:49] This worked until this (Monday) morning. I presume there was an update over the weekend.
Now it doesn't work any more.
I wish it did. I'm getting tired of being Microsoft's experimental red-headed step-child. My red hair is going grey from all the radiation exposure.
I will have to agree, this is a necessary component for several business environments. A simple toggle to strip the extra code that is preventing direct screen copy and paste is all that is needed.
I still have this issue and its worse now without the timestamp. Can't copy the timestamp anymore. We need to prove that we have been communicating on tickets and more than a summary response on the ticket. Now, without the timestamp, conversation just looks like a bunch of one liners from the same person. Brings back the use of Notepad text communication.
