How to copy teams chat with Timestamp?

Ever since this month and while using the new team application, I can no longer copy teams chat message with the timestamp. I need the timestamp to reference conversations and it would be a pain to add the time and date stamps for every message I need to copy. Also I found that you can copy messages with a partial timestamp by highlighting the chat messages and press control c while holding the right click button on my mouse. This also doesn't help as I get a preview message with double names. It would be a pain to remove part of a line per chat message I am copying. Is there a way to restore the old copying with the timestamp and an option for those who don't want the timestamp. I know skype had this functionality.

    ****/export-chat-history-in-microsoft-teams suggests using https://gofullpage.com/  to grab the whole chain as a PDF. This was the only way that I could get the timestamps consistently.

    In business, it is often critical to copy and paste Teams conversations to other applications WITH user identifiers and dates and times included. Removing this feature is creating a lot of inefficiency for those that need this functionality.

    PLEASE RESTORE THIS ABILITY OR AT LEAST AN OPTION TO INCLUDE IT!!

    I stand corrected.

    Ctrl-A does not work. Yes, it grabs the entire message. I also grabs some part everything on the Teams screen, including the names, times and lead-in line for every chat that I have open. Not just the one I'm trying to capture.

    Off the cuff, I can't imagine a worse way to implement the Ctrl-A functionality for Teams. Seriously.

    Yes, Ctrl-A works. Sort of. If and only if:

    1. You really need the whole message history, meaning:
      1a. You only ever talk to a given person once.
      1b. You only ever talk to them about one thing.
      1c. You're not tracking/retaining the ongoing conversation(...s) in another place so it won't go away when the Teams chat is purged.
    2. You don't mind doing (or need to do) the necessary cleanup of the garbage (including the summary at the bottom) to make the copy readable and usable in another context.
    3. You aren't PO'd every time you're reminded that it used to work better before MS broke it worse that it was ('cause it was still not great)...and that this is Standard Microsoft Procedure.
