How to copy teams chat with Timestamp?

Ever since this month and while using the new team application, I can no longer copy teams chat message with the timestamp. I need the timestamp to reference conversations and it would be a pain to add the time and date stamps for every message I need to copy. Also I found that you can copy messages with a partial timestamp by highlighting the chat messages and press control c while holding the right click button on my mouse. This also doesn't help as I get a preview message with double names. It would be a pain to remove part of a line per chat message I am copying. Is there a way to restore the old copying with the timestamp and an option for those who don't want the timestamp. I know skype had this functionality.

    I tried using what you recommended but it didn't work. When I put the text of replace ^13[^32-^126]@ by [A-Z][a-zA-Z -]@, [A-Z][a-zA-Z ()]@^13 It doesn't work. But when I put ^13[^32-^126]@ by [A-Z][a-zA-Z -]@, [A-Z][a-zA-Z ()] (without that ^13 at the end) instead, it works partially. I keep the replace with as ^13 in both instances.

    Can you help me try to make it work?

    Thank you for explaining the wildcards. I'll try that and see if that helps clean it up

    WA Yeah, it pastes in summary lines.

    Where are you pasting it to?

    If it's an Outlook email (likely Word too), wildcard Find / Replace can eliminate the summary lines:

    Find (Options > wildcards ON)":

    ^13[^32-^126]@ by [A-Z][a-zA-Z -]@, [A-Z][a-zA-Z ()]@^13

    Replace with:

    ^13

    ====================

    To append the time to the sender's name:

    Find (just the time portion of it and surrounding newlines):

    ^13([1-9]{1,2}):([0-9]{2}) ([AP]M)^13

    Replace with (note there is a preceding space inserted to separate the time from Firstname on the previous line):

    " \1:\2 \3^13" (Remove the quotes. I just put them there to show the preceding space.)

    If you have 24hour time turned on, the Find time pattern will have to be changed. This might work:

    "^13([0-9]{2}):([0-9]{2})^13" Minus the quotes, and I'm not sure about the hour part.

    Eben-Ezer, that works pretty well, except not always.

    It seems to work best if I start my copy at the header line, the part with the line -------- Today -------

    or ----------- Monday, November 25 -----------

    Select Today, or Monday, and drag down, all the way to the "Type a message" box.

    Continue to hold the mouse down and use Ctrl+c.

    At that point I was able to release the mouse (eeek!) and paste the text.

    It even pasted the dates, like:

    Friday, November 22

    ...

    Monday, November 25

    ...

    I still have to clean up all the summary line "ya dee dah... by Lastname, Firstname" and append the time to the sender.

    (Those are done with wildcard search replaces, for me, in an Outlook email, Word should work too.)
