How to copy teams chat with Timestamp?

Ever since this month and while using the new team application, I can no longer copy teams chat message with the timestamp. I need the timestamp to reference conversations and it would be a pain to add the time and date stamps for every message I need to copy. Also I found that you can copy messages with a partial timestamp by highlighting the chat messages and press control c while holding the right click button on my mouse. This also doesn't help as I get a preview message with double names. It would be a pain to remove part of a line per chat message I am copying. Is there a way to restore the old copying with the timestamp and an option for those who don't want the timestamp. I know skype had this functionality.

    This feature needs to come back. Copying messages with sender and timestamp is essential for documenting conversations properly, especially in a business context.

    We use Teams daily to track decisions and raise issues, and this change has made it much harder to copy-paste messages into tickets, reports, or handovers. Manually adding timestamps or names every time just isn’t realistic.

    I get that some users may not want metadata, but the solution is simple: give us a toggle in Settings. Let people choose whether copied messages include timestamps and sender names.

    Removing this outright breaks workflows that were working fine for years. Please escalate.

    Exactly, even this doesn't work anymore. Come on Microsoft - it's simple! Give us the ability to copy names when copying teams messages.

    I don't know why more people aren't complaining about this.

    In business, it is often critical to copy and paste Teams conversations to other applications WITH user identifiers and dates and times included. Removing this feature is creating a lot of inefficiency for those that need this functionality.

    PLEASE RESTORE THIS ABILITY OR AT LEAST AN OPTION TO INCLUDE IT!!

    WA Yeah, it pastes in summary lines.

    Where are you pasting it to?

    If it's an Outlook email (likely Word too), wildcard Find / Replace can eliminate the summary lines:

    Find (Options > wildcards ON)":

    ^13[^32-^126]@ by [A-Z][a-zA-Z -]@, [A-Z][a-zA-Z ()]@^13

    Replace with:

    ^13

    ====================

    To append the time to the sender's name:

    Find (just the time portion of it and surrounding newlines):

    ^13([1-9]{1,2}):([0-9]{2}) ([AP]M)^13

    Replace with (note there is a preceding space inserted to separate the time from Firstname on the previous line):

    " \1:\2 \3^13" (Remove the quotes. I just put them there to show the preceding space.)

    If you have 24hour time turned on, the Find time pattern will have to be changed. This might work:

    "^13([0-9]{2}):([0-9]{2})^13" Minus the quotes, and I'm not sure about the hour part.

    I was able to accomplish this HOWEVER the format appears in a complete run-on sentence.

    So yes I also request restoration to the former setting.
