I appear to be the only one on our team (suddenly and inexplicably) missing the Gif button on my Teams desktop App/browser. It appears the same when I log on via edge. Where has my GIF button gone and how do I get it back?

Teams autoupdates itself, so you're just buying time and not fixing anything. The new tems is not beta, i'ts been aorund quite some time already.

    Hi Brian,

We're on the same boat, and also done all those tests. We've also tried to completely remove Teams with:

    get-appxpackage -name *msteams* | remove-apppackage -allusers

Then reinstalled it following step 1 option A as per this link:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-bulk-install-client#step-1-upgrade-the-new-teams-application

At first we recovered GIF button and other functionalities, but those have disappeared the next day.... a bit frustrating, although not impacting too many users in our org so far

The gif button has returned when switching back to old teams, but is removed when moving back to new Teams. Seeing as new Teams will be forced on everyone in the very near future, I've decided to use this workaround...

[1] In a web browser, go to giphy.com.

    [2] Search for gifs there.

[3] Right-click on the gif you want and select "Copy Image".

[4] Go back to your teams chat, position the cursor where you want to insert the gif.

[5] Press CTRL and V together to paste the gif.

    Longwinded? Yes.

    Ideal? No.

Better than not having any gifs? It certainly is!

haha yeah, that's the un-ideal workaround the user is doing....

Anyway, we've also tried cleaning up the cache folder, %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache but to no avail, GIF button is not there.

We do think this is a Microsoft side problem, not really a client side. as reported in this thread and another I've seen, this is affecting different versions (24033, 24060...) but of course, nothing clear on where this might be coming from :(
