I am having issues with the "New" Teams screen freezing on shared screen when users switch screens

This issue happens everytime the person who is sharing the screen switches. Whenever the switch happens, the screen will freeze on the last image before the screen was switched to another user. The sound works still but the screen will stay frozen on that last image of the users screen. The only fix is to end Teams via task manager and it restarts the app and adds back to the call. This happens everytime the screen share is switched to another user. Not sporadic at all. The old Teams works fine but Teams keeps forcing me to the "New" Teams. This issue needs fixed. I have seen many other people online noting the same issue. I have updated all drivers and unistalled Teams and re-installed. Nothing fixes it. What is going on with this "New" Teams.

I had this same issue with the new teams, to the point where it would freeze every five to ten minutes no matter what I was doing. My solution was to uninstall everything Teams, including the installers and the old version of teams from my laptop. Once everything was removed, I reinstalled Teams from the website. I have not had an issue since (at least with it freezing, there are other issues but not as unmanageable as this). I hope this helps.

I have been having issues now for about 4 month, our IT guy try's to help and has tried most of the fixes like emptying the cache but it doesn't help.

It is now at the point I have to quit teams by right clicking the icon on the task bar and re-launching.

I just can not work with teams anymore it is taking 5-10% of my day waiting for teams to re-launch.

It is not hard ware constraints either as I hade a new lap to about 6 months back with plenty of spare performance.

I am at the end of my nerves and found this forum so thought I would contribute. Dose anyone know if there is a even newer TEAMS on the horizon that may work. The trouble is corporation i work for uses TEAMs as the default but I seem to be the only person having issues.

I have same issue for weeks: Open a meeting in "Microsoft Teams" frozen my OS
    Workaround was:

    • CTL+ALT+DEL
    • Open "Task Manager"
    • In Apps, click-right on "Microsoft Teams" and choose: "End Task"
    • Next search for "Windows Explorer", could have multiple processes, "End Task" in all of them
    • Next click on "Run new task" (Upper right) and insert in Open: "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" and press "OK"
    • After that you recover the OS, without a complete restart
    • You could start again "Microsoft Teams" and works until you open the another meeting, then the issue happen again.

    Today my workaround is:
Open a meeting in "Microsoft Teams" frozen my OS

    • CTL+ALT+DEL
    • Open "Task Manager"
    • Search for "Windows Explorer", and choose: "Restart"
    • After that you recover the OS, without a complete restart, "Microsoft Teams" no restart and you keep connected in your meeting.

We have this issue as well with one of our clients.

    This is affecting 30+ users.

New teams window freezing when joining a meeting or sharing your screen in a meeting. The windows can be moved around normally. The window also doesn't go into a "not responding" state, it just doesn't respond when clicking in the app.

Deleting cache and reinstalling teams is only a temporary fix, the issue always comes back

    I tried

    • Modifying the screen refresh rate to 60HZ - these are laptops and are already on 60
    • Put in allow all rules in the local windows firewall for teams
    • Changed the graphics power settings for teams to max power

I looked at disabling hardware acceleration, but this is not in the GUI in new teams?

I also tested other store apps and they work normally white this is happening.

Microsoft really hasn't identified the issue?

I have the same issue, so frustrating

    Un-installed, reinstalled teams

    Reset the app

    Repaired the app

    Deleted all the files

    Nothing works :(
