We are able to create the announcement post with custom image/banner but with the latest version of teams- 1.6.00.12405 (64-bit), the feature to upload custom image/banner is no longer available.
Any workaround to bring back the feature?

Disappointing this feature of uploading your own images is no longer available. Let's hope Microsoft revises this decision.
Thanks Microsoft for fixing this. We now have access to edit banners again with custom background feature that honestly is even better than before. Love this creative option for teachers! The ai and access to images is making my online classroom look better than ever.
Oh my goodness, THANK YOU!! I'm so glad the Teams announcement custom image banner option is back. And agree, the AI design features that have been added make it even better than before...

Just tested it - Also UK - we don't have it yet either :(
About to roll out new Teams in about a week.. so lets see how that goes with the educators.
