We are able to create the announcement post with custom image/banner but with the latest version of teams- 1.6.00.12405 (64-bit), the feature to upload custom image/banner is no longer available.
Any workaround to bring back the feature?

Thanks Microsoft for fixing this. We now have access to edit banners again with custom background feature that honestly is even better than before. Love this creative option for teachers! The ai and access to images is making my online classroom look better than ever.
Can we get an update date on this.
Why is Microsoft removing this feature from the new version?
My latest version of Teams Classic + Teams New (not preview) has the banner removed from announcement.

Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to create custom backgrounds for their Announcement posts with the generative AI power of Microsoft Designer. This release of Custom Backgrounds for Announcement Posts will be rolling out across Microsoft Teams Desktop and Web for Channels 2.0 in English – US markets only. In line with current announcement behavior, Mobile will only support the consumption of custom backgrounds. Feature is disabled for EDU tenants while the team implements a policy setting.

Am I right that the rest of the world does not have any option to add banners in their posts?
That is really bad. I currently do not have any option to add banners to Teams Channel announcements.
Thank you for this reminder. Anxious for this update!! My only concern is that these banners still seem quite large. Decreasing the size back to the 1" or 1.5" high would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Do you mean that the the upload background image is not present anymore when you make an annoucement?
