What happened to the spellcheck feature on the new Teams??

I have notice that the spell check seems to be broken on the new Teams version. The incorrectly spelled word still gets underlined in red, and a suggestion list populates as it used to, but the suggestions are ridiculous. A perfect example is the word "definitely".

    I checked it again this morning after rebooting and it is still terrible. The test word that my users complain about is "don't". If you enter "dont" it recognizes that this isn't a correctly spelled word but Teams can't seem to figure out what the word should be. As a matter of fact, Edge is the browser I am using and it identified this word as misspelled in this post and offered the correct replacement. I don't understand why Teams and Edge aren't using the same spelling/grammar system?!?

    Yes, I had to close and re-start it and it's much better. Not as good as word or outlook, but not as bad as before.

    I have a similar problem with the new teams. My preferred languages are:

    1. Dutch (Netherlands)
    2. English (US)

    Since the new teams all my writing in dutch get these 'red waves' underneath 95% of all my words. It's trying to "fix" the miss spelled words into English ones.

    I can't seem to fix this issue. In the classic teams (and all the other Office 365 applications) the spell check was/is working fine.

    Please Microsoft, fix this issue

    My organization is also starting to see this issue. Simple words like "dont" which is missing the apostrophe are identified as misspelled however the suggestions are all wrong. In the past, the context aided the system in finding the correctly spelled word but now it is not. I suspect that this is attempting to use Microsoft's AI technology and the AI is failing but for whatever reason, I have users who are upset that a feature they had come to depend on is now failing them. Microsoft software is suffering right now as I have users also complaining about the File Explorer in Windows 11 which is also not working correctly.

    Microsoft, please don't break things that have worked for years!
