What happened to the spellcheck feature on the new Teams??

I have notice that the spell check seems to be broken on the new Teams version. The incorrectly spelled word still gets underlined in red, and a suggestion list populates as it used to, but the suggestions are ridiculous. A perfect example is the word "definitely".

    Yes, I'm on Win 11 as well. Same issues with the plural and poor suggestions. Let us know how MS treats your request. Too bad they don't just monitor these forums and chime in.

    The issue isn't just with the new Teams. In my org, I was able to test new vs old etc.
    Seems the issue is mainly occurring on Windows 11, at least for us.

    I'm using the following test sentence: Microsofft Teems spelll chexing is terrible

    On my Windows 10 machines with both New & Old clients - spellcheck identifies & offers correctly"Microsoft" "spell" and "checking" just as expected.

    On my Windows 11 machines - both New & Old clients and the web client - it offers up the following suggestions:
    Microdot

    Microsite

    Microdots

    spill

    spells

    spall

    hexing

    cheeping

    cheering

    I too notice a lot of instances where a word does get suggested "correctly" - but with an added letter "s" on it which pluralizes it.

    I havne't seen it mentioned here, but I'm opening a case with Microsoft to get this figured out. I've been living with it for months but have had enough & confirmed its occuring with some (not all) users in our org as well.

    Btw - I've cleared both old & new client cache, checked language & regional settings in the app and the OS - and nothing has corrected it.

    Using my test sentence in regular Office apps like Outlook or Word work correctly.

    I checked it again this morning after rebooting and it is still terrible. The test word that my users complain about is "don't". If you enter "dont" it recognizes that this isn't a correctly spelled word but Teams can't seem to figure out what the word should be. As a matter of fact, Edge is the browser I am using and it identified this word as misspelled in this post and offered the correct replacement. I don't understand why Teams and Edge aren't using the same spelling/grammar system?!?

    Yes, I had to close and re-start it and it's much better. Not as good as word or outlook, but not as bad as before.
