Surface Pro 8 camera issues caused by Teams and New Teams

Hi,

My Surface Pro 8 has always had the issue of the camera not responding after joining a Teams session, then a Zoom or Google Meet session and then a Teams session again. With the new Teams App, the problem is much worst since it manages to mess up the camera by itself; I could be in the middle of a Teams session and the camera just freezes. The problem does not go away until I reset the computer. If I place it on stand by mode, Windows cannot activate the camera when I wake it up, it takes a reset to make the camera work again.

I have seen numerous post from other users with the same problem and all I have read as an answer form Microsoft is to update drivers or firmware. I hav done that multiple times, in fact, I just did again and the problem persists. Will look for a way to get back to the previous Team desktop application to make life bearable for a bit.

I will appreciate any assistance.

    I meant restart. Sorry. I have to restart it at least twice a day since the camera freezes after a few video conferences (Zoom, Meet, New Tems).

    I really envy you Katy. I have to disable/enable the front camera several times during the day until the trick does not work and I have to restart the computer.

    What do you mean by reset the computer, like restarting it or a factory reset? I restart my Surface Pro every day anyway, and clear my browsing history regularly, otherwise Zoom has a tendency to freeze. These Surface Pros are more trouble than they're worth.

    At least it gets my camera working so I can be on video during Zoom and Teams meetings...I've only had to do it once and the camera has worked for the past few weeks without having to do it again...much better than it not working at all I think...

    Thanks Kaite.

    It temporarily fixes the problem, but it will happen again.

    I doesn't seem to be a fix for this.
