Hi,
My Surface Pro 8 has always had the issue of the camera not responding after joining a Teams session, then a Zoom or Google Meet session and then a Teams session again. With the new Teams App, the problem is much worst since it manages to mess up the camera by itself; I could be in the middle of a Teams session and the camera just freezes. The problem does not go away until I reset the computer. If I place it on stand by mode, Windows cannot activate the camera when I wake it up, it takes a reset to make the camera work again.
I have seen numerous post from other users with the same problem and all I have read as an answer form Microsoft is to update drivers or firmware. I hav done that multiple times, in fact, I just did again and the problem persists. Will look for a way to get back to the previous Team desktop application to make life bearable for a bit.
I will appreciate any assistance.

After 2 years fighting with this, the only workaround I’ve found is to disable the ir camera in the device manager. I’ve been testing it for three days and I’ve had no more camera freezing.
The bad, windows hello will not be available.

That's a nuisance. I'm gonna guess my problem is more mild because I only use Teams and Zoom, no other videoconferencing programs, and my processing usage is pretty basic, no advanced programs or big files. Zoom has a tendency to freeze too if I'm multitasking more than a little during the meeting and usually requires a restart mid-meeting.

As Ciro mentioned, you're pretty lucky.
The only "fix" I've found, is to install camera drivers with a date prior to Dec2022. I write "fix", because camera works, but I get several BSODs (Blue screens), and Surface reboots while I'm on a meeting.
My guess is that the problem has to do with Surface's temperature.
I'm testing this: Disabling hardware acceleration in all videoconference apps, because they'll make the GPU work harder, demanding more resources to the Surface.
However, if I do that, I can't use virtual backgrounds, which are mandatory for me to use in the company I work for. It won't even let you use blur effect on videocalls.
I think tahta, when the Surface gets too hot in the back (more than 45 min of usage) or I'm in a meeting, while the surface is charging, problems begin.
Those are the scenarios I think that might be triggering the problem.
I'm not poitning to Teams beacuse I've had this problem before I installed it.
I'm also not poitning to a camera hardware problem, because people having S4,S5,S6,S7,S8,S9 and even Surface Laptops, are complaining too.

That is my last resource., but I want to buy a Windows Hello compatible external camera.
