Why is MS Teams jumping to a different chat than the one I chose to be in?

That sounds very similar to one of the issues I was having as well. It would switch chats when moving my mouse around (no clicks). Like I said, mine is gone now. Here are the KBs I have installed on my machine. Maybe that'll help?

That's what I thought the issue was when I was initially investigating it a few months ago, but it only makes up half of the reported issues from what I can see, and also what happens to me.

If I move my mouse to that side of the screen before typing then it'll just go straight to the person in the list who's name appears with the same letter as I'm typing, but when I move my mouse to the other side of the screen, I can get a few replies in before it jumps to a different chat. Usually a previous chat? Same behaviour with the message reacts.

Well... the behavior you're describing still happens for me but that might be by MS Teams design (good or bad design I guess on who you ask :-) ).

What was happening to me was that as I was typing in a particular chat, MS Teams would jump to another chat, take that text I had typed and place it there so I'd send the message to the wrong person/group if I wasn't careful. That behavior has gone away with this version.

I have what seems to be a positive update :-)

I've been on this version for over a week and haven't had the chat window change up for me.

Exactly same version here, and unfortunately jumping still continues, just tested on the method of leaving a spesific chat to go to a channel, moving back to Chat area and pressing letter K - Teams directs me to a different chat, where I am chatting with a person whose name starts with K.
