Why is it that when I start up Teams it automatically opens up my Chats first?

I have my Microsoft Teams set to open up automatically when my computer starts, however, whenever it starts up the 'Chat' tab is always showing first. How can I make it so that the 'Teams' tab is what's shown when it first opens up. This is ever since switching to the new version.

Thanks!

For me (on PC), Teams is not even opening up in the most recent chat I had! It opens up in an old chat from 6/27/24 (today is 7/11).

Apparently the only action we can take at this point is to upvote this suggestion: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/86d55a3b-f7f0-ee11-a73d-6045bd7a7839.

There is no fix. I've scoured the internet, looking through various forums and websites, and there is NOTHING. Microsoft hasn't issued a fix. I'm not sure if they're holding on it because they're focusing on developing the overall platform, but surely they have a few team members they could assign to commonly reported issues like this. It's ridiculous.

I hate New Teams so much, and it enrages me that they forced everyone to switch before these basic functionality issues were ironed out.

Thank you - I'm in new Teams but don't see "open application in". All I have is "Apps." Here is a screenshot of my menu:

If I hit that Apps at the bottom, it gives me the app selection with no menu like you mention.

    1. Under the "Application" section, you will see an option for "Open application in." Select "Teams" from the drop-down menu.

There was no "Applications" section under General. I am using the most updated version of Teams.
