I have a user that is getting this error when trying to create a new Team in the Teams beta version. I was having it as well until I cleared my cache. Unfortunately, the same fix did not work for them. Any ideas?

    Hi everyone,

I noticed that some users are still experiencing the "We couldn't complete that action" error when trying to create a new Team in the Teams beta version, even after trying the solutions provided by Furkaan.

I found a solution that worked for me:

    1. Sign out of Microsoft Teams.
    2. Close the Teams application completely.
    3. Sign back into Microsoft Teams.

After doing this, the error was resolved and I was able to create a new Team successfully. I hope this helps others who are facing the same issue!

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,
    Storm

Signing out of Teams freezes it, then giving MS Teams the three finger salute (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and ending the frozen Teams instance from the Task Manager seems to resolve the issue.

We are having the same issue. It looks like this has been going on for a while with no fix.
I couldn't even try with the web app because I was forced to switch to the new Teams.

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the additional info. Ultimately, since clearing neither folder worked, creating the Team on the users' phone was the solution we had come up with for the time being. I guess I really just posted to raise awareness and see if anyone else had a solution to issue. Short term it's a fine fix, but hopefully Microsoft will get it resolved soon. Users don't like change!

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Furkaan, a user just like you. I’d be happy to help you with your concerns. The error message "We couldn't complete that action" can appear for a few reasons when creating a team in Microsoft Teams Beta. Here are some possible solutions you can try:

Clear the Teams cache: While this worked for you, it may not always be the solution. Instruct your user to clear the Teams cache and data. Here's how to do it:

Close the Microsoft Teams desktop app. Open the File Explorer window. Type in the following path: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams Press Enter. Delete all the folders within the Teams folder. Restart the Microsoft Teams app. Ensure good internet connectivity: A weak or unstable internet connection can cause this error. Instruct your user to check their internet connection or try connecting to a different network.

Check Teams Permissions: It's possible that your user doesn't have the necessary permissions to create teams. They'll need to consult with your IT admin to see if their account has the appropriate permissions.

Report the issue to Microsoft: If none of the above solutions work, then it might be a bug with the Teams beta version. Instruct your user to report the issue to Microsoft so they can investigate it further.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Give back to the Community. Help the next person who has this issue by indicating if this reply solved your problem. Click Yes or No below. Best Regards, Furkaan
