New Teams prompting "The parameter is incorrect" error.

New Teams has been advertising itself to many of my users. Majority of the company has made the switch, but others are running into a parameter error. Strange bit is, I can get it to work for about 5 days. Afterwards, I'm guessing an update takes place, and New Teams refuses to open and throws a parameter error. I've tried reinstalling the application multiple times and downloading the app installer. Nothing seems to work.

    Hi. Similar problems here. We run a non-persistent desktop VDI environment using FSLOGIX for the profiles. I un-installed the old Teams Machine Installer from our Gold image and then ran the .\teamsbootstrapper.exe -p -o "c:\teams\MSTeams-x64.msix install to install the foundations for new teams.

    When I then log on as a user (bearing in mind their profile has all the old teams stuff inside it), first log on with new teams, it doesn't auto start which is fine. I get the user to launch it, it opens fine and away they go. They then log off at end of day. Next time they log in, it auto starts and logs in fine which is great. They then log off again at end of day. Third time they log in, we get the parameter is incorrect error and teams doesn't start at all even when you try manually launching it. Nothing has changed on the image so it must be something the profile is doing to break this after the 3rd go. Then after, that it just keeps playing up and doesn't work again. I've done this jump test from old to new quite a few times now and same problem each time as I described above.

    I downloaded the installer about 2 weeks ago so if there has been an update since then, maybe I could try that but this is very bad especially as they keep saying the old one will be phased out. It makes you panic to get the new one in and working asap.

    Yep an ETA when this will be resolved will be very handy. I'm very concerned this is not giving us enough time to properly test New Teams in VDI before the end of June 2024 deadline to move over to New Teams in vdi.

    We have had it working now in our environment since March 31. One "trick" we found that needed to be done was to have users open Teams on the Web and make sure to switch to new Teams there as well. After we did that, New Teams has been loading ok. There are several shortcomings we have found. Will not open in background (regardless of checking status in settings), very poor audio performance from Echo cancellation standpoint, difficulty joining Teams Meetings from links sent by others. All-in-all, a pretty poor program, but we are forced in many cases to use it.

    For us it's working for some tenant but not all tenants same non persistant image, same gpo, same licensing, same teams policies, same fslogix storage and config.

    Have not been able to figure out the difference yet.
