Hi all,
The way I work is that I have Teams open on the half of my 3rd small screen (laptop).
Today I realized that recent chats pane just stay open which means that actual chat is now 1/4 of the screen.... (small slice)
Previously I had to hover over chats icon and then select which chat I want to answer.
This feature works when I zoom in A LOT (ctrl +) but it's impossible to work this way.
I tried following things:

This happened to one of my coworkers this morning to fix it he:
went to apps and features found the app > clicked advanced options
scroll down to the reset area and choose reset the app

TEMPORARY FIX:
So I kept seeing people saying they enlarged it to 125% zoom but it was not working for me. I have my teams on a larger monitor so I maximized my teams window and I had to zoom in all the way to around 325% until the side chat bar hid. I then minimized the teams window back to my normal size and started zooming out until the chat bar opened up again and zoomed back in until it closed to see which percentage would work for my size screen and my teams window size. I wanted the text as small as I could get it so the only way I was able to do that was resizing the teams chat window to the smallest it could go and was able to have it zoomed down to 115%. Not ideal but better than having the side bar open or having it be 125% zoomed
That's honestly even a little more infuriating: that the "feature" is still there but that we don't get to choose when it kicks on.
Zooming to 115% solves the problem temporarily! Souns like a remedy until they introduce this feature again.
Same issue here. There is just no reason to take away features that were previously available without at least creating a menu item to adjust this feature or turn it on/off. Fix this... and do better...
I discovered this also happened on my work machine Team's client. Doing some research with a couple of coworkers if you go to three dots next to your profile pictures > Settings > About teams, and if you look at your 'The client version is XXXXXXXXXX" If that client version is 49/24071128825 you will be able to have your chat conversation window be hidden depending the size of your Teams window. If your client version is 49/24080212008 it seems that breaks the hide function of the chat conversations, unless you zoom out to a certain percent (my machine was 135%). Unsure if MS did this on purpose or was an intended change but from my research it seems the client version will be the newer one or greater if it no longer functions.
