Microsoft Teams Copying Name, Timestamp, and Message

I used to be able to copy a series of teams messages and it would include the Username, timestamp and the message, but now it only includes the message. I did not change anything about the way I'm copying. I need to be able to copy and paste this data for my work. I have already deleted the MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe file to clear cache, and I've reset and repaired the app. I have had no luck in getting this ability back. We should have the choice of including this data in clipboard or not.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION

I found on another thread that deleting contents of following fixes the issue temporarily, until the issue it pops up again.

In Hidden Icons on taskbar at bottom right, right click on the Teams icon and Quit.

Delete contents of following folder, as much as it allows (some files are blocked from getting deleted):
C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe

You will then be able to capture timestamps.... temporarily... until it pops up again.

Same issue. I've read somewhere that this was intended as there have been lots of frustration / complaints from end users that too much information is being copied. I'm guessing Microsoft listened to the couple of hundred people that found this a problem, but ignored the rest of the community that rely on this for auditing purposes.

Typical of Microsoft to constantly implement changes that 99% of the community dont want or need.

Kind of works but there is zero formatting when you do it this way which is equally as frustrating as not having a timestamp at all

Based on your description regarding "Microsoft Teams Copying Name, Timestamp, and Message". My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this might be causing you, after thorough testing, I reproduced your issue at my side. It could be Microsoft changed something at backend. I will report it to replated team. The Workaround I found is to hold mouse for selecting the message with Time and sender you want then use CTRL+C for copy and CTRL+V for paste while you are still holding mouse. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get more detail information about the query and fix.

Also, if you have the organization admin permission, you can also raise a service request to report this symptom to our online channel through the O365 admin center. A support agent can further connect with you remotely, for further troubleshooting and involve the backend team where need be. Get support for Microsoft 365 for business -- Online support.
