Removing the"Suggested" List in Teams Chat

I also went into my registry and removed all reference to Teams as it will use those settings:

o thoroughly uninstall Microsoft Teams from your Windows profile, follow these steps:

1. Close all active Teams windows and processes.
2. Open the Windows Settings app.
3. Click on "Apps & features."
4. In the search bar at the top, type "Teams."
5. Select the Microsoft Teams application icon with the purple background.
6. Click on "Uninstall."
7. Confirm the uninstallation by clicking "Uninstall" again.
8. A dialog box will appear, asking for permission to make changes to your device. Click "Yes" to proceed.
9. Microsoft Teams will be uninstalled from your computer.

Once Teams is uninstalled, you can remove any remaining Teams files by deleting the following folders:

• %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
• %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams

Additionally, you can delete the following registry keys:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Teams
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Teams

To delete a registry key:

1. Open the Registry Editor.
2. Navigate to the registry key you want to delete.
3. Right-click on the registry key and select "Delete."
4. Confirm by clicking "Yes."

After deleting the Teams folders and registry keys, restart your computer to ensure that Teams is completely uninstalled from your Windows profile.

I think I figured a way to remove these suggestions. I was in disbeilf and agree with all comments and determined to find the solutions. I noticed that a majority of the suggestions were from organizations that shared external and/or guest access. I focused on how to remove external and/or guest access and went through these steps:

1. Go to Admin Settings
2. Select Users
3. All users listed can be deleted one at a time
4. Select the three dots next to the users that you don't want
5. Sign out of Teams
6. Sign back in and the "suggested" list should be gone - or only contain names from external users

4. Uncheck the Show suggested replies in chat option. This should remove the “Suggested” list from your Teams chat.

NO .. this does NOT work! No surprise since evidently Microsoft doesn't care what the users want any more (made evident with **** like "suggested contacts" and "focus inbox" etc on it's software)!

So please, how the hell do we remove this trash before we remove Microsoft from our billing cycle and look elsewhere?

First give a useless anwser, then say it is removed gradually with updates...We are two years further and I still see suggested contacts that have I have nowhere else.

Nope, the Windows File Explorer as used for file browsing in Windows. The one started using "windows key" + "e". But since my last reply I got a new laptop and didn't change these settings, but the issue is still gone.

So I'm not sure how it didn't re-appear, but changing the settings in File Explorer did fix it the first time.
