Removing the"Suggested" List in Teams Chat

How do I remove the "Suggested" list from the new Teams? This is both annoying and foolish.

I turned it off in File Explorer and it is now gone. Original text slightly modified below:

"Well, what I found was that turning off "Show recommended selection" (or something alike, my Windows is set to Dutch) in the privacy settings of ~~Windows~~ File Explorer (yes, explorer, not Teams) made this go away! Maybe this helps?

So to access this, start ~~Windows~~File Explorer and click the three dots. Choose "Options" and the privacy section should be on the first tab."

Arrrrg, I just started to experience this problem myself yesterday.

It is insane that this i) cannot be turned off or ii) names cannot be deleted. I have the names of individuals whose e-mail addresses no longer exists and I cannot get rid of them!

The proposed solution in File Explorer is not working for me.

Why cannot they not fix such simple problems it is maddening!!

I uninstalled the Teams that comes with Office365. I then downloaded and installed the stand alone version of Teams, logged in with my Office account and it the list went away.
