How do I remove the "Suggested" list from the new Teams? This is both annoying and foolish.

Well, let's hope they come up with some kind of fix before the forced switch, otherwise you can enjoy it for a whopping 2 weeks. :-(
Not ideal, but I switched back to Teams Classic to get rid of the suggested chats list. Fixed until the 1st of July when Microsoft forces us to switch. Great efficiency booster to have a list of random people to chat with.
You should remove this immediately. I don't need my users trying to start external conversations, and file/apps shares. I think I have this blocked in the Admin portal for Teams but still...all this does is confuse end users.
Also Suggested replies and Suggested Chats are not the same thing, don't reply with a fix for the wrong thing...
There is no way to remove this, and you're right, dangerous because I don't want to accidentally click on and chat with these people. Typical Microsoft stupidity.
I'm wondering the same, how to get rid of it. Since this week it seems to be more prominent, closing it doesn't help, when Teams restarts it opens again. :(
