Teams keeps popping up while using any MS365 apps

Hi all,

We have a few users complaining Teams keeps popping up while they're using any Office app,

I've checked all settings, deleted cache, reinstalled and this issue still persists

It becomes very annoying because it pops up to the front of the screen while users are typing on Word of Excel.

It's not related to receiving messages as no new messages when it happens.

Has anyone had the same issue? Can't find anyone with similar issues

We use teams on a regular basis, so disabling auto start or removing it completely it's not an option

Good day!

Kindly note that this issue was been reported resolved the Service Health with ID TM746712.

The user experience of this incident was: Users' Microsoft Teams desktop client pops up when opening other applications.

More info: Specifically, when a user opened an application while the Microsoft Teams desktop was also open, the Microsoft Teams desktop window took focus for the user. While there was no immediate user impact preventing users from using Microsoft Teams, the scenario interrupted user interactions with several other applications and had the potential to cause unintentional actions when focus unexpectedly shifted to the Teams client.
Final status: The deployment of the fix completed to the affected environments and remediated the impact.

Scope of impact: Your organization was impacted by this event, and users' Microsoft Teams desktop client pops up when opening other applications.
Start time: Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:11 AM UTC.
End time: Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 12:29 PM UTC.
Root cause: A recent Microsoft Teams desktop update introduced a code issue that was causing the impact.

Next steps:

  • We're continuing our review of the recent Microsoft Teams desktop update to better understand the behavior and interactions of the Microsoft Teams pops ups, which will help us to avoid similar impact during future updates.

    It's now December 17th 2024 and still this bug is not solved!

    Still this annoying bug has not been solved although people already complain about this since the beginning of 2024!

    Whenever you start an MS365 application, like Word, Teams pops-up on top of it. Then you minimize it, and a couple of seconds later it pops up again. Can this please be fixed?? This is so annoying!

    Got the same issue after applying Windows Update today (and system restart).

    Never happened to be before that.

    Any hints to fix that?

    This same issue just started happening to me as well. SO annoying! Why NOW is this happening? My Surface is completely up to date. This is so bizarre...

    I just installed it on 24th June and I get this issue, so clearly Microsoft haven't fixed this in the 5 months they've been aware of it. Absolutely useless Microsoft. I can only uninstall it and hope the browser version works for once. 🤦🏾‍♂️
