Microsoft Teams File Upload Doesn't Have Replace File Option

The other day my Microsoft Teams application was no longer giving me the option to "Replace Existing File" with a new version if the files had the same name. Instead Teams was automatically renaming the uploaded file or allowing me the option to share the older copy. How do I revert my settings back to giving me the option to "Replace Existing File"?

According to your description, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the file upload feature in Microsoft Teams. Currently, there is no option to revert the settings back to the previous behavior of allowing you to replace an existing file with a new version.

This is a recent change that was made to improve the security and integrity of files in Teams.

    I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, I now have multiple files floating around.

    The ability to replace a file was integral to my workflow. I work on health documents which need many revisions, not being able to replace a previous version means the wrong version can easily be picked up.

    Please fix this.

    Ugh, this change is awful. It used to ask us, now it just decides for us. It used to be easy to keep it simple, one file, always the latest version, always in one place. Now it takes a ton of work with what used to be a simple click of a button, telling it to overwrite the file.

    I don't see how this improves the security or integrity of files since you can still replace files... you just have to jump through hoops now. You have to find and delete the file you want to share. Extra work for no benefit... please revert!

    Yes. Auto-renaming of files that need to be replaced is a BAD IDEA and is causing havoc and confusion.
    Please restore the ability to update a file in chat with a newer version with the same name.. Thanks!
