Microsoft Teams File Upload Doesn't Have Replace File Option

The other day my Microsoft Teams application was no longer giving me the option to "Replace Existing File" with a new version if the files had the same name. Instead Teams was automatically renaming the uploaded file or allowing me the option to share the older copy. How do I revert my settings back to giving me the option to "Replace Existing File"?

According to your description, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the file upload feature in Microsoft Teams. Currently, there is no option to revert the settings back to the previous behavior of allowing you to replace an existing file with a new version.

This is a recent change that was made to improve the security and integrity of files in Teams.

    Well, Teams is now not usable to share PHP class files accross team. If the name is SuperPHPClass 1.php and inside is class SuperPHPClass {}, it totally changes functionality, it destroys it. Terrible behavior! Bravo

    We are not using co-authoring here, I want to share living files that my collegues can retrieve and not inadvertantly pick up an old file.

    Poor design - the latest Teams (I think it still lists as "new") is a real letdown and step backwards for collaboration(I'm presently avoiding the latest version of Outlook, simply because of how badly these kind of changes to Teams have affected my productivity!).

    Very few of the files I share are for real time collaboration, in fact very few of them would integration with MS Office.
