Microsoft Teams File Upload Doesn't Have Replace File Option

The other day my Microsoft Teams application was no longer giving me the option to "Replace Existing File" with a new version if the files had the same name. Instead Teams was automatically renaming the uploaded file or allowing me the option to share the older copy. How do I revert my settings back to giving me the option to "Replace Existing File"?

According to your description, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the file upload feature in Microsoft Teams. Currently, there is no option to revert the settings back to the previous behavior of allowing you to replace an existing file with a new version.

This is a recent change that was made to improve the security and integrity of files in Teams.

    Please bring back the "Replace" feature.

    For classroom usage, sometime I need to upload the same file many times, for example, a large notes package that we add a bit to every day. It will be confusing for students to have so many files in Teams. I also don't want to have to "delete" old files or rename each one every day.

    I do not like this feature change. It is going to create wasted space with older versions of file I do not need and have to manually delete from the chat Drives.

    The main problem there is that when you have several files, some already existing and some new,

    new files are copied and old ones are ingnored.

    No questions to replace or ignore those.

    So you have a mess of files, very hard to follow.

    This is becoming absolutely intolerable!!! does anyone know of any alternatives to teams as this is a total mess
