Microsoft Teams Spell Check

With the recent update to Teams the spellchecker is not working correctly.  It will show the misspelled word but when you click on it there is no longer a suggested spelling popping up.  We (Several in the company) have noticed this on the latest update to the following version, Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.21970 (64-bit).

I have already gone in and deleted the setting.json file, that will work for a short time 10-20 minutes then back to not given a suggestion.

I tested if we use the pop out feature and chat in a seperate window spellchecker will work as intended it appear to be the same issue as posted before.

    Did that fix "stick"? I tried that solution to getting Teams spellcheck to work and it fixed the problem... For a short while and then spell check stopped working again.

    this restart process below doesnt work - I have done the below

    Log in to Teams > Turn Spell Check Off > Restart Teams > Turn Spell Check On > Restart Teams again.

    Still the settings area show 'Enable spell check (requires restarting teams' and the spell check doesnt work :(

    I have tried a few things to 'restart' teams including Quit from the task bar logging in and out several times etc.

    Can anyone please help if they know a way to restarting teams that works?

    I tried all those steps. I finally did an repair and rest under the App Settings. So far, so good. Hoping it doesn't revert in a week as others have mentioned.

    In our org we have many people having the issue of spell check randomly not working on the New Teams. Going to the New Teams app settings, repair, and then reset works temporarily, but the issue keeps coming back for multiple users. Microsoft needs to come up with a fix for spell check in the New Teams.

    I had this issue and this is what fixed the issue for me.

    BLUF: Reset the app.

    1. Using Search, "Installed Apps" and select the result
    2. In the search field type Teams
    3. Next to Microsoft Teams (or Teams New...whichever you are using), select the three dots, and then the advanced options.
    4. Scroll down and select Reset. (It will close any sessions you have open reset all settings and delete app data.)
    5. Restart Teams. Spell check should be working again.
