With the recent update to Teams the spellchecker is not working correctly. It will show the misspelled word but when you click on it there is no longer a suggested spelling popping up. We (Several in the company) have noticed this on the latest update to the following version, Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.21970 (64-bit).
I have already gone in and deleted the setting.json file, that will work for a short time 10-20 minutes then back to not given a suggestion.

I tested if we use the pop out feature and chat in a seperate window spellchecker will work as intended it appear to be the same issue as posted before.

The "reboot" does not work for me. Spell check works if I uninstall and reinstall, but then fails sometime after that. Rinse and repeat :..(
This. I've followed a few different suggestions. Totally removing/cleaning this directory and rebooting...

...That works for a bit and then I'll notice a day later that spell check has stopped working again.
Microsoft Software Bugs: Always disappointing, but really not surprising.
I did these steps and teams just does not suggest the right words. I tend to transpose letters so the word SHOULD comes out as SHOUDL or the work JUST is JSUT and jut about any word with ING at the end gets typed IGN. When I was on Windows 10 in Teams it would suggest the right word, but now that I moved to Windows 11 it does not.
Wow. And I thought I had problems. Did you ever get this fixed? That's bizarre.
For me this is a single use fix. After quitting and returning to Teams, spell check is broken again. I have to reset Teams every day atm.
Old and personal versions of Teams have been removed. I am using New teams for Work or School 24004.1307.2669.7070.
That helped. Even without removing old teams from startup and unpin from taskbar.
