Microsoft Teams Spell Check

With the recent update to Teams the spellchecker is not working correctly.  It will show the misspelled word but when you click on it there is no longer a suggested spelling popping up.  We (Several in the company) have noticed this on the latest update to the following version, Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.21970 (64-bit).

I have already gone in and deleted the setting.json file, that will work for a short time 10-20 minutes then back to not given a suggestion.

I tested if we use the pop out feature and chat in a seperate window spellchecker will work as intended it appear to be the same issue as posted before.

    Thank you. I am sorry - I am not familiar with %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Do you mean in a search engine type that in?

    I am not sure if it is a long-term fix or not, but I had one of my team members do the following. So far on day 2 spellcheck is still working.

    Close Microsoft Teams. 

    Go to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

    Delete all the files and folders in this directory (don't worry, this won't affect your messages or files stored in Teams). 

    Restart Microsoft Teams

    Thanks for the help. I did as you suggested and it is not offering spell check. It shows that the word is misspelled but when I right click on the word there is no correction. Any suggestions?

    Hello Chad_Albrecht_999! My name is Jeremy and I’m happy to help you with your question.

    I found a more recent thread as well that had similar information.

    Try these steps in order:

    Log in to Teams > Turn Spell Check Off > Restart Teams > Turn Spell Check On > Restart Teams again.

    The thread you linked as well as the one that I found are both from 2022. The one I found being from June/July so it doesn't seem to be a common issue any longer.

    I hope the steps I gave are able to make the spell check work again.
