With the recent update to Teams the spellchecker is not working correctly. It will show the misspelled word but when you click on it there is no longer a suggested spelling popping up. We (Several in the company) have noticed this on the latest update to the following version, Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.21970 (64-bit).
I have already gone in and deleted the setting.json file, that will work for a short time 10-20 minutes then back to not given a suggestion.

I tested if we use the pop out feature and chat in a seperate window spellchecker will work as intended it appear to be the same issue as posted before.

I have english windows and polish language in teams.
Spell check work only in english -

Hey Chad, I was facing the same issues including some others during attending workshop on my Teams app. I'm focusing on the relevant comments, and I hope I'll find the solution soon.

2023-09-26T17:24:53+00:00 Here is what I had to do to get this to work again.
Settings >> Disable spell check
Restart Teams.
Settings >> enable spell check
Restart Teams.
Close Teams
Clear Teams cache.
I had previously cleared the cache with no success but adding in the toggle of the spell check settings seems to have resolved this for me.
The spelling worked fine in the preview version of Teams but as this is for work, I can't depend on using a beta version in day to day operations.
