Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

Trying the New teams, instead of my taskbar showing me a checkmark or away status. the taskbar teams just says "New"

    I checked and the application says I have the latest version:

    You have Microsoft Teams version 23320.3027.2591.1505. You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 1/10/2024. AVD Media Optimized.The client version is 49/23110231809.

    Since my original post was to let people know that it's now working for me and I'm not from Microsoft, I cannot tell you why it's not working with the version you have.

    The only thing I could think of is that this function was only implemented with the preliminary version. Maybe somebody from Microsoft could confirm this or if the version you have, support the status badge on the TaskBar icon?

    Lynda, is your problem just the "New" sticker on your icon? Or, not seeing the notification on the icon? Mine still have the "New" sticker, but I'm getting notification on my icon as well. I had to install this specific one: https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/23306.3311.2542.4729/MSTeams-x64.msix - that one worked for me. GL

    It's not the "new sticker" so much as I like when I can see what my status is by looking at the icon. It used to have a circle with green yellow or red so I can see what my status is currently.

    Mine always looks like this:

    The only time I've seen it change is when I missed a call or a chat, then it shows red.
