Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

Trying the New teams, instead of my taskbar showing me a checkmark or away status. the taskbar teams just says "New"

    I now have the Preliminary version 23306.3311.2542.4729 and it seems less buggy.

    With the earlier preliminary version, there was a bug where the Status Tag would disappear. When this happened, closing and reopening Teams resolved the issue for a while. This bug seems to have been resolved with the new version.

    For me I changed back to Classic and then back to New Teams and now it shows my current status.

    Update: Status is gone again. Ugh. I'm going back to Classic until this is fixed.

    The status tag is a bit iffy at times in my current version. Hopefully it's fixed in your version. How do I get 23306.3311.2542.4729?

    This is what happens when I go to About Teams: VersionYou have Microsoft Teams version 23306.3308.2524.1744.Issue occurred while checking for updates.The client version is 49/23101227712.

    Teams updates are automatically pushed to us at the company I work for and I'm not part of IT.
