Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

The new Teams experience in the Taskbar is different from the classic Teams experience. Instead of showing a checkmark or away status, the Taskbar Teams icon will display the "New" label when you are in a new Teams chat. This change allows you to quickly identify new chats and respond to them without having to open the full Teams app.

I have the same problem but the "new" label never goes away regardless of it I have a new message or not. Is there a way to change or fix this?

I'm Still using the old teams so it displays my status since I haven't found a solution to get rid of the New label on my taskbar.

Same problem as others. The green "new" label never goes away in the system tray. Works fine on the taskbar, but if I close the window teams disappears from the taskbar and I use the one in the tray to let me know if I have any messages pending.

Is there any fix for this yet, or do I need to go back to classic teams for that functionality? I rely on having the icon change in the tray to let me know I have unread messages.
